Photo A Day: Reflections in an Old Window

In honor of getting a new camera and needing a reason to play with it…welcome to my Photo A Day! Topic: Whatever strikes my fancy. Frequency: Daily-ish. I hope.On the corner of a street on a tiny little island that lies in the river between Northumberland and Sunbury, PA--and I'm not quite sure if it's Packer Island or Packers Island, as I have seen it written both ways so you tell me, people--sits a weird little building. This building, it seems, is a substation for one of the power companies. It sits a little bit removed from neighboring buildings, and I always end up looking at this place. It's isolated and quirky and, somehow, endearing. But that's only the street-facing part of the building. The back half is dominated by substation structures--electrical towers with large coiling things coming off of them, and signs everywhere warning us that THIS IS ACTUAL, FOR REALZ ELECTRICITY, PEOPLE, and that one should only touch it if one is interested in blasting one's soul from their body.OK, OK, I won't touch it. Spoilsports. This is one of the back windows, taken from a safe and discreet distance, as I am still interested in having body and soul knit together.I am not sure why, but I really want to picnic next to this thing. Kudos to RB for getting his...her?...initials on one of the upper panes. Better him than me.
